Alaskan Beekeepers at the '99 Palmer State Fair

Every year "The South-central Alaska Beekeepers Association" & "The Alaska State Beekeepers Association provides" a Display for visitors at the State Fair in Palmer. Here are a few of the 1999 highlights.

The Honey Queen

Grand Champion
Ribbon Winner

image Mary Goocey won top honors and $100.00 (Donated by S.A.B.A.) with her display of Pollen. It was collected from different flowers at different dates, showing the honey bee forage available during our short season. Great job Mary!

Local Bee Man

Honey Sales Booth

image This year was the first year local beekeepers had their own booth to sell honey at the Fair.
