This question is probably as old as golf. I have a friend who hits long balls 250 +, but it always slices. What can I tell him to ddo??

get the e-book "From The Ground Up"
http://www.dubyasee.com/golf
... simplifies the game A LOT!
(I think you can also find it at

Good luck .... golf is a cruel mistress

"slicing problems...." , Wed 26 Mar 17:02 post reply

The clubface is open at impact. That is the only certainty I can gain by your definition of slice. I need more information on what your ball flight's initial direction is before the spin carries it off. In general terms the face decides the curvature and the path decides the initial direction before the spin kicks in.

If the starting direction is to the right and curves further right this is called a push slice, to the left a pull slice and straight is a straight slice.

The first way to work out and solve the problem is knowing the flight.
