I don't know if any of you have came across or heard of this game yet, but it's pretty realistic. It’s an online Golf game that you can play against others on the net. You can go here "http://www.shot-online.com/" to register and download the game. Best of all its Free!
It's an online golf game with several different courses from beginner to what some call intermediate, I still consider them Pro but I‘m getting there. The difference between this game and other golf games is that you actually have to play it to get better. You don't start up and pull off a 350y drive. You wouldn’t do that if you just walked out onto a golf course for the first time in your life so why should you in a game? You have to learn to play the game.
It sort of has some role-playing aspects to it, in that you start at level 1 and then as you play you gain levels. As you level you can put points into: Power, for longer drives, Skill, for those nice backspin shots, Impact, so that your more accurate and hit the ball better and also Stamina so that your not so tired at the end of 15 holes and barely able to finish the last 3. Everyone stinks when they first start though so don't be discouraged, after a few rounds with other players you'll gains levels and improve your game pretty fast.
The company that hosts the game has tournaments every once in awhile where they give out prizes. They just finished one up where the top winners won Computer Graphics card, USB Memory stick and a MP3 Player along with 30 other players getting in game money. You can use the money in game to upgrade your clubs as you gain levels, or if you like buy some different golf clothes for looking stylish on the course.
My favorite part is the community. There is tons of other golf fans out there to share the fun with. You can talk about your real game or you’re in game game with other players. There is clubs to join and compete in or go against other clubs.
Give it a try and after ya shoot a 30 the first round give it a few more tries before ya break your clubs, you really will improve over time. I was shooting 25 or so until around level 10, now at level 22 I’m down to a handicap of 3. Best I’ve seen has a handicap of -18 at level 48 and he normally drives over 300y.
