Some people used to drink lots of alcohol and then swallow or even shoot Tuinal (and other barbiturates like Nembutal). With hindsight that was probably one of the most dangerous trends that we have seen in the last few decades in UK drug using. Interestingly it coincided with one of the lowest points ever in the evolution of popular music...a couple of Tueys (Tuinal) a few pints of scrumpy cider and on came Genesis, Led Zeppelin and worst of all Lynyrd Skynerd. They are pretty strong (one for avg. size beginner's, two for druggies) and a rather pleasurable ride, if you can stay awake. That is pretty much the deal, if you can stay awake you get a numbed out drunk state that beats alcohol hands down. You can o.d. but I would imagine you would have to eat quite a few (I would figure at least 8, probably much more). What screws people up is they get real loaded on these things and forget how many they took and they are feeling good so they take more. Then they wind up maybe somewhere they don't want to be, so exercise a little caution. No driving. Barbituates come on fast and strong. First effects should be felt in 20-40 mins. The hardest effects are from 1-4 hours after ingestion. A lot of stupid people like to mix these with alcohol. I would not suggest you trying anything like that. Have fun. > >JW Amen to the alcohol however I had the opportunity of trying to drive on reds in my younger days and it is a difinate no-no. I went 200 yards on a straight road before a hedge ran out in front of me and landed in someones frontyard. A friend of mine tried it too and lasted 5 minutes before he went off the road into a ditch. (dose 2 or 3 pills). The point is do not do not do not drive on that stuff. Your reactions are even slower than than your judgement. BTW though I am not proud of it I have occasionally driven quite drunk without mishap. I read that one can die from sheer exhaustion from Heavy DT's. I would imagine something similar happens with barbs. I mentioned awhile ago that my first Detox was in a county run Facility and the whole second floor was at 60 degrees? Freezing as all institutions are. For some unknown "Detox" secret reason we were all lined up at 10:00/am the next day and tested for coordination and they also checked our vitals. Then they proceeded to give us cups of liquid with 200 mgs. of Nembutal in each. They would do this every hour and check our coordination and vitals all the while. It became kind of a game to see who would last the longest because this was to be given to us all until we passed out! Their logic in that most drug addicts have cross tolerances to Alcohol,Benzo's,Barb's,Quaaludes and other sedatives and depressants and they needed to see where our tolerances were at. It still didn't sound logical ! There were a few Barb habits there. Anyway I hadn't been into Quaaludes or barbs for a few years and didn't think I'd last too long. Well, finally lunch came and I had just taken my third cup @ 600mg.total. they checked me and I began to eat lunch............. I woke up about 6 hrs. later as it was still light out,with soup all over my head? And they continued to give us barbs along with our dose or pill(Quaalude,Seconal,Psychotropics,ect.) and would detox us along with the barbs, it helped actually. But it kept me stupid!! Like drunk all the time. Anyway I went in there on 40mg. and left after the 3rd day. I was 19 and it wasn't until I got outside and had signed out my right to return that I realized that I was very fucked up on Barbs. And I couldn't of left being on less than 30-35? It was for a month,free. So really I screwed up a good thing. And got sicker than a dog. I saw a Dr. and my biggest question was when am I going to sleep?? Jackson
