From: pez@manhattan.com (Gizmo) Subject: Re: REVIVENOL (A Human Interest Story) Date: 1996/11/27 newsgroups: alt.drugs.hard In a ground breaking joint effort between Eboka, Howard Lotsoff, NIDA, CEDRO, CEDAR and others too numerous to mention, a twice in a "lifetime" offer is being made to anyone who would like to "volunteer" to have a first hand experience of the effects of REVIVENOL. This is an unprecedented opportunity. Revivenol, a synthetic extract of the amazon regions rare but very holy berries from the tree, known to the local natives as (Zebolitus Seriturian,) which translates into English rougly as (Unmortificatious Extendus) will be offered to "volunteers" who are willing to come up with the trial fee of $297,200. In addition, the "volunteers" will also be required to be killed off first! This second part is very necessary as the only way to gather empirical data on the effects of Revivenol, would be to first kill the perspective client! Information is not yet available as to what happens to the money if the experiment fails. Although, we're pretty sure it will be used for further research and advertising. The effects of revivenol were first discovered when a group of hard core addicts accidently wandered into the Amazon region while trying to smuggle 120 kilos of Cocaine out of the country. Upon being pursued by a band of local law enforcement agents, they hit on the idea that if they did enough Cocaine they would be able to outrun the authorities and make a clean get away. After ingesting too much Cocaine, all of them died while running at a record breaking twenty miles per hour. The local natives finding the dead bodies, performed a holy ritual burial rite that involved the use of an organic mixture of Revivenol. To the utter amazement of the locals, Revivenol seemed to re-animate these lifeless hulks, at which time, they quickly gathered the rest of their Cocaine and made a break neck get away out of the country. During this ritual, Eboka and Howard Lotsoff, who were lurking nearby, ever vigilant in their search for new and unusual substances that they could bring to market for the addict population, did observe the whole damn thing. Once they realised that the only reason Revinenol did actually re-animate these dead smugglers, was because they were hard core addicts, it didn't take long for them to "guess" that there was some kind of connection between these miraculous effects and the fact that these folks were strung out on hard drugs! After taking with the natives and finding that normally "Revinenol" has never revived anyone before, they felt they had enough to go on, to get started on their "research." So, anyone who has the $297,200 and is willing to die as well, should contact me at (RE-ANNIMATE@AMAZON.COM.) Further instructions, will then be forth coming. Gizmo ================================================================= From: pez@manhattan.com (Gizmo) Subject: NEWS FLASH (It's Starting) Date: 1996/11/20 newsgroups: alt.drugs.hard EXTRE, EXTRE, READ ALL ABOUT IT... In a leaked press release from the Westchester County Sherriff's Department, The Whitle Plains Police Department and the Mamarreneck Police Department, it was found that 15 drug addicts that had overdosed and died in a shooting gallery near White Plains NY, have apparently COME BACK TO LIFE and are now lurking the streets of Westchester County once again. Sources close to the investigation are hinting that it looks like trace elements of street grade REVIVENOL have been found at the scene of the "crime." One eye witness who was found nodding out at the undisclosed location had this to say: I-WITNESS Jo man, yeah man. Ju see deez guys were all shootin de-shit man and day like OD'D man. Was some good shit, man. Ju dig man? Den dis dude comes in and hits everyone wit da spike and next thing, day all start movin again and shit. Was freaky, man. I did s'more shit and nodded out. The eye witness who was known on the street as, Tito (The Big One) Testosteronus, was not arrested. Apparently a street level grade REVIVENOL is now available and local city morgues and funeral homes are concerned over this new drug. The loss of a few OD's everyday in a city like New York, could be bad for business, they say. Rehab/Recovery programs are also concerned. Hell, their biggest selling point has always been that if you don't stop your addiction, you're going to die from it. BUT NOT ANYMORE! Not only can REVIVENOL cure you of your habit, but it jump starts you in a way that puts you right back to where you were before you ever used drugs, Owwww. No more fear of death. Less admissions into recovery programs. SCARY stuff huh? Could this be the title for a major motion picture? "The Night Of The Undead Junky" Could be. Gizmo ================================================================ From: peter@petermc.demon.co.uk (Peter McDermott) Subject: Revivenol -- no hoax!! Date: 1996/12/19 newsgroups: alt.drugs.hard So, you thought Revivenol was a clever Gizmo hoax, did you? From 'Opium: A History' by Martin Booth, page 82. Pub. Simon & Schuster, 1996. "Morphine, codeine and thebaine can all be used as the basis for a variety of semi-synthetic opiates which have become increasingly important in recent decades. Some are incredibly powerful. In the 1960's, a team working on thebaine under the prominent natural products chemist, Professor Bentley, in the Edinburgh laboratories of Macfarlan Smith & Co., made a literally unconscious discovery when someone accidentally stirred cups of mid-morning tea with a contaminated glass rod. The company physician, Dr. Simpson, was called. He monitored the comatose scientists, noting their heart rates, breathing patterns and behaviour before they revived. The drug they had unwittingly drunk was later developed into etorphine. Approximately 10,000 times as powerful as morphine, it is also known as M99 or Immobilon and is used in dart guns to capture elephants and rhinos. Less that 2 millimeters will knock a full grown white rhino senseless: a mere scratch from a contaminated needle can kill a man. Fortunately, there is an antidote called M50/50 or Revivon.
