Actually I'm not at all surprised. You can barely give the stuff away here (OK, so I'm
exaggerating -- you can give it away, but nobody would buy it if they had the price of 
half a gram of heroin -- not a lot.)

Where there _is_ some demand for it is in ampoules of cyclamormph -- a morphine 
and cyclazine mixture. Which prompts another little Macstory....

When they first introduced the heroin reefers here, I thought that I'd have a little 
go at it -- try breaking the injecting habit, so I switched to a regime of something 
like 4 or 5 60mg heroin bifters a day, supplemented by a couple of ampoules of 
cyclamorph at the weekend. (A man's gotta get some reward in this world.)  
People had _sworn_ that the cyclamorph were the closest thing to diconal, and 
I'd had single amps in the past, and they _seemed_ ok.

Anyway, I got my weeks script on a saturday. Whopped up the cyclamorph amps -- 
the rush had a diconal like intensity, but it turned you into a dribbling moron. I was 
praying "please god, please mommy, somebody make it stop."  _Very_ unpleasant. 
It seems that without the strength of the dipipanone to take the edge off, cyclazine 
was not very nice at all -- as I subsequently found out when trying a Marzine and 
Methadone mixture -- another do-it-yourself diconal that was very popular on 
the streets here for a while.

As for the heroin reefers -- well, they were only fit for someone who didn't 
have a habit. This was in the period when they were putting them onto Potters Herbal 
Cigarettes -- an anti-asthmatic preparation made from stramonium. They used these 
because they could give them on prescription -- unlike good old Benson and Hedges.

Anyway, you should try choking one of _those_ down when you're nauseous from 
withdrawal sickness. What's more, because of the way the heroin burned (it burned 
rather than vapourized) most of the dope went up in smoke. You would get _far_ more 
from a 10mg ampoule than you would from a 60mg reefer.

So, the only people with a good word to say for them were people who didn't have a 
habit. A dismal failure -- even as a free drug.

Needless to say, I was back on my old script by the end of the day.
