I understand that a lot of brown heroin in the USA is coming from Columbia these days, and that might well be hydrochoride rather than base - I don't know, I've never seen it. But the stuff that they sell in Holland and Europe is virtually *all* base. Some of it will dissolve, but not very well, and you'll get a whole lot of powder left in the spoon that should be going up into your arm. > Now like I said maybe your right and the Brown would >dissolve better if I used lemon juice (I know that your right when you say >that Heroin is a base). Citric acid is better than lemon juice if you can get it, but just a pinch (of citric) or a few drops (of juice) will do it. The best way to go is to use as little as possible, and if it doesn't all dissolve, just add a little more until it does. I guarantee that if you *are* getting base, you'll notice a very significant difference. ==================================================================== From: (Samson) Subject: Re: Brown Heroin and Lemon Date: 1997/11/10 Newsgroups: alt.drugs.hard [...] One thing should be made clear: just because it's brown doesn't mean it's base. Converting to salt does not remove the brown color. That is done with activated charcoal for the most part. In fact, brown heroin in England is often the hydrochloride salt. O'Neil, P.J. & Pitts, J.E. "Illicitly imported heroin products: Some physical and chemical features indicative of their origin", J For Sci,1984, 29:3, pp 889-902 -- has extensive tables listing seized heroin products, origin, color, salt v. base form, etc. Many brown samples coming from SW Asia were identified as HCl. ==================================================================== From: (Peter McDermott) Subject: Re: Brown Heroin and Lemon Date: 1997/11/13 Newsgroups: alt.drugs.hard [...] >O'Neil, P.J. & Pitts, J.E. The other issue is, what do people mean when they say 'brown'. The word can mean everything from off-white to mud coloured. Base is pretty identifiable because it doesn't easily dissolve in warm water. ==================================================================== From: (Samson) Subject: Re: Brown Heroin and Lemon Date: 1997/11/13 Newsgroups: alt.drugs.hard [...] > I've seen brown Columbian heroin - on a TV documentary. They were > packing it up into balloons inside Columbia, and it looked just > as brown as the brown we get over here. Quite possible. DEA says the Colombian they're finding in the Northeast is white HCl salt. I also 'saw' some stuff that I was told just came in from Puerto Rico (meaning it was Colombian) which was quite white. A lot of it depends on the market. I saw a documentary about the signature program where they showed some "mexican brown" that was really SEA white colored with caramel that was destined for sale in the Southwest. It's all about consumer loyalty. [...]
