Altered Tattoos of Elanthia

This is precisely what it claims to be-- a list of tattoos.  Why?  Why not?  I find altered tattoos kind of neat, and I'm certain there are other people who will find them so as well.  I'm not doing any kind of quality check; if I see it, it's up here.  If you'd like me to include your own altered tattoo, or if you see an altered tattoo that I haven't seen yet, drop me a note.

I recently learned a bit about how altered tattoos work, and I thought I'd put a few notes up here for anyone who might be lucky enough to receive one, in order to help with design.

1.  If you want it on an "other location" (the standard locations are the head, ear, neck, shoulder, arm, wrist, finger, back, chest, waist, thigh, leg, ankle, and foot, I believe), it must be somewhere that is constantly visible.
2.  The 50-foot rule.  If someone couldn't see something on a tattoo while standing 50 feet away from the tattooed person, it belongs in a show rather than a long description.
3.  The 15/15/15 rule still applies with tattoos that have show descriptions.  Things like "a fluted golden lizard tattoo" (8/13/6) are acceptable.  Things like "a fluffy chartreuse dandelion tattoo" (8/20/6) are not.  Things like "a sapphire-scaled lizard tattoo" (1/15/13), while dividing neatly into 15/15/15 are not acceptable because the usage word would be "lizard".  Keep in mind that the last word should be "tattoo"-- it may be easier for some people to think of it as 15/15 and forget about the last 15 entirely.
4.  Shows should not include the bearer's gender.  Don't say things like "her thigh"; say things like "the thigh".  I confess I don't quite understand the reasoning behind this rule, but I imagine that it's simply good form, much in the same vein as never using gender in normal items.  It's nothing to sweat over, however; after all, we know what gender the character is because we know who's showing it to us, so why be redundant?

My thanks to Nagari for his patience and kindness while I struggled with the above four concepts.  (Don't go looking for any intricate tattoos on Tanager, incidentally; our discussion was during my brief sojourn into Platinum.)

And now on to the main attraction....

Aerienne: a tattoo of a delicate jewel-toned wild orchid with glistening petals and gold-accented emerald green leaves twining around her thigh

Ardwen: a regal golden gryphon and a beautiful white dove flying wingtip to wingtip into a crimson sunset tattoo on his arm

Armaxis: a pattern of dark serpentine sigils tattooed upon both hands
Jagged sigils are inked into the flesh, seemingly slithering across his hands and coiling around his fingers in a strange, arcane pattern. The curving sigils follow a sinuous path down from the fingers, twisting to enclose the symbol of Luukos, one upon each palm.

Beaumian: a tattoo of a dark elf surrounded by a mystical aura on his arm.

Beldannon: (Platinum) : a skull and crossbones tattoo
Inked on the bicep on a field of black and silver rests a stark white skull with a bemused expession on its maw and a patch over one eye.  A pair of crossed bones serves as an armorial bearing and lettered on them is a brief history of Beldannon's illustrious deeds.

Brixx (Platinum): a slit-pupilled golden eye tattoo
This tattoo of a tawny golden eye sports a slitted black pupil akin to the eye of a cat or a serpent.  Subtle streaks of blood-hued red and gray run through the iris, giving the eye a peculiarly intense expression.  Swirls of gray ink curve around the eye like curling smoke and wrap around the back of the wrist.

Garredd: a tattoo of a dozen measures of dancing notes.
Encircling the ankle is the tattooed score to an intricate melody.  The sharply rendered notes of the arrangement sweep around in a flowing rhythmic pattern.

Haruk (Platinum): a tattoo of a deep green ivy vine barely concealing sharp silvery thorns on his forearm

Haruk (Platinum): a silver-edged black dragon tattoo
Tattooed in deep black ink and accented in brilliant silver, a fierce dragon coils around the arm, its claws drawn as to sink into the flesh and its mouth open in a mighty roar as clouds of murky steam stream from its nostrils.

Heathyranne: a golden phoenix rising from fiery crimson flames overlying a golden scroll inked with five conjoined circles tattoo

Kaitlen (Platinum): a tattoo of an emerald dolphin leaping from crystal blue waters

Krisenfest: a tattoo of a merry monk poking at a green serpent with a staff on his arm

Krispy (Platinum) : an amusing brown ferret tattoo
Inked on one side on the neck in varying shades of brown, a black-masked ferret with an amused look on its face and a glint in its beady eyes grasps a nut in one hand and a miniature lockpick in the other, as he tries to coax it open.

Livn: a tattoo of a silver-eared kitten leaving behind a trail of sooty pawprints on his neck.

Macillus: a tattoo of a majestic ice hound baying at the moon

Merryleon: a soaring royal blue dragon tattoo with argent scales and intelligent eyes breathing an ethereal inferno on his arm

Mikalah (Platinum): a sunlight gold fern-pattern tattoo
Slim golden fern-stalks run up both sides of the the jaw before branching across the cheekbones and temples in symmetrical spiraling curves.  Patterns of copper-edged leaflets border the stalks in orderly rows.  A subtle black-inked edge traces the lower side of each stem and leaflet, simulating the shadows of the ferns.  A stylized sun symbol rests perfectly between the final curls of two graceful fronds that arch over the eyebrows.

Nadinna: an elaborate Vaalor crest tattoo
Inked in vivid colors, this incredibly detailed tattoo covers the entire back, from shoulder blades to waist.  A vibrant golden dragon, each beautiful scale accented and shaded, soars broad-winged on a field of vivid crimson.  A golden helm tops the shield-shaped crest, with decorative red and golden foliage enclosing it.

Nevrek: a circle of scratch-like red runes tattooed on his chest

Nindy: a black gecko tattoo
The tiny gecko is masterfully inked in solid black.  Light gold ink lines the tiny lizard and forms the tip of the lizard's tail, glittering with some diamond-dusted ink.  Bright gold eyes seem to stare calmly outward, but the creature's tiny golden claws are drawn just in case.

Riend:  a circlet of intertwining vines of ivy interlaced with delicate silver water lilies tattoo on her neck

Sabitor: a tattoo of a flawless black diamond clenched between the fangs of a sinuous gold serpent on his neck

Swetelove: a tattoo of spiraling vines of poison ivy that wrap around on her thigh

Vixesse: a narrow collar of flames tattoo tinted deep crimson and clasped with a tiny red diamond on her neck

Zodac: a tattoo of iridescent silvery glyphs entwining from his neck to the tip of his right middle finger on his arm

Zsi (Platinum): a tattoo of tiny silver unicorn rearing up on its hind legs upon her wrist
