Many of the guidelines and advice about reading runestones has been taken from my experience in reading Tarot outside Elanthia.  I mean no more offense to anyone when I explain such matters in an Elanthian context than the Coven means by including Wiccan themes in an Elanthian context.  If anyone feels that I have treated an ancient art with disrespect, please feel free to contact me and voice your opinions.

I personally do not believe in Tarot, rune-reading, or any other form of divination as a means of foretelling the future.  I do believe that runic readings are quite useful in determining a person's (or character's) own feelings about a matter-- a personalized, situational Rorschach test.  When runes can be interpreted in so many fashions, random chance will result in most readings having some kind of bearing on the situation.  I have no wish to dictate anyone else's religious or metaphysical beliefs, but I do not wish to see anyone confused about reality versus fantasy-- I've seen some nasty slides in one version and another of Elanthia, and I imagine anyone who's played for a year or more has seen the same.

I encourage anyone using divination tools in Elanthia to keep both a reasonable perspective and an open mind.
