I looked into a world of dreams
And saw such wonders there
I choose who I would want to be
Created from thin air
Then, sword in hand, I stumbled forth
Bewildered but entranced
And bumped into a strange, dark elf
We kissed, we killed, we danced
He made me smile, eased my pain
His laughter pulled me in
His words spun music round my heart
And caught me to his spin
Faster, brigher, words of love
They whirled and danced and blew
A leaf upon a raging storm
I leapt and, breathless, flew
The view below was beautiful
As, racing pulse, I soared
Then stunned, I heard a mocking voice
''You cannot fly!" it roared
I felt a dip, another, and, stone-like
Fell from the sky
The crunching jolt -- the sleeper wakes
"Not real! A dream! A lie!"
A dream so real I mourned its loss
In vain sought sleep again
To no avail, the dream was gone
In place, familiar pain
"To die, to sleep, perchance to dream..."
For death or slumber serves
For open eyes, a beating heart
A dream is lifes reverse
