Within this library, you may find poetry and songs written for the land of Elanthia, or, if not precisely written for Elanthia, readily pertaining to that world. While I had initially thought to limit this to GemStone III alone, a friend of mine requested that I include a few of the pieces written by his DragonRealms character, and so I expanded the compass of this repetoire. Songs and poetry from DragonRealms have been marked accordingly.
A number of people have been kind enough to contribute their own work and expand this library. (You'll understand better if you read this sentence as, "I leaned on nearly everyone I knew, even those who left Elanthia years before I arrived.") If you feel like sharing as well, and you wish to contribute to this library, please feel free to submit your work here; I will gladly include anything, so long as it is your own original work, within the Elanthian genre, appropriate to such a collection, and written without the intent of maligning another person. If you wish it to appear under a pseudonym (or if you-the-player wrote it but you-the-character did not write it) I will list it however you prefer. Similarly, some have wondered at how titles seem to come and go; I list all as they wish to be listed to the best of my knowledge. If you wish me to alter the appearance of your name, by all means-- let me know, and all will be remedied.
Although some of the pieces here
may not lend themselves readily to performance by another artist, all poems
and songs found herein are free to any who might wish to perform them,
so long as they make no alterations and offer full and accurate credit
to the original composer. At the least, the composers and poets hope
that you read and enjoy.
