1/28/02 Update:
For starters, I added the new and highly romantic guide "An Elanthian
Language of Flowers" and the highly unromantic "Tanager's Guide to the Strategy
and Etiquette of Hunting". Thanks to Nofret, the shopping guide now
includes prices, and, thanks to Jacinto, this site now features what will
most likely be its only statistical guide ever... "Jacinto's Guide to Swinging
Many Times". The Memories section also has a new addition in the form
of "The Life and Times of the Great Spirit Eairus". There are, as always
(I'm going to stop announcing this soon) more people in Dress to Impress,
the Hall of Fame, and the Hall of Shame, as well as an addition in "A few
thoughts...".
12/23/01 Update:
Finally sorted out the time and energy to do another update. (Yay!)
Most notable additions? The "A few thoughts..." section, the "Records"
section, and the "Searching Beyond" section. As well, more people have
been showcased in Dress to Impress, more items have been added to the Hall
of Fame and the Hall of Shame, and the library includes a few new pieces.
10/8/01:
It may be a while before any more work is completed on this site.
If more information is needed, see the Announcements
.
9/28/01 Update:
I am overjoyed to say that FreeProHosting is finally accepting my password
again. Updates resume!
What's new? The most impressive addition is probably the highly-in-progress
fauna guide "From Aardvark On Down". After that, the most impressive
addition is probably the expanded shopping guide (look! Ta'Illistim!)
followed by... hmm... well, lots of things. Feel free to find the
rest yourself.
9/15/01:
I finally found the words today, and throughout the course of today, to
describe precisely how I feel about what happened Sept. 11, while everything
is still fresh to me. These words are my own, and they come from my
heart. They are the words of the player, nothing to do with the character
of Tanager Skydancing or the world of GemStone III. If you wish to
know, then seek further
; if not, forebear. (This is an RTF document. My spacing went
nuts on the webpage, and I didn't have it in me to put it back bit by bit.)
9/12/01:
I am not religious, but yesterday was evidence of evil, pure and simple,
abroad in this world. It is difficult for me to conceive of the hatred
existing in the world that can cause any single person to murder any other
single person-- but this? It is an attack against everything
I believe about people, and my heart is truly broken by the idea that anyone
could even plan such an attack to destroy so many lives-- let alone execute
such an action... and yet, the way that people pulled together to aid, comfort,
and reassure one another was a reaffirmation of my beliefs, even in the midst
of all the horror. I did not have the heart or strength to arrive in-game,
but I heard about how Sovyn hosted people who needed to talk in the face of
the crisis, and I read the Topic of the Day on the message boards. GemStone
truly is a family, as is this nation-- both are huge, both bicker a lot,
both have massive internal disagreements, but when all hell breaks loose...
we don't break.
The most important thing I can say to every citizen of
the United States who may read this is GIVE BLOOD-- even after the immediate
crisis is averted, our national reserves will be terribly depleted.
I can't go until Friday, but I will go then. It is the only way I
can truly help, however indirect, and I have no intention of not helping
in every way I can.

9/7/01 Update:
Well, the website has been open for a bit over two weeks now, and people
have been very wonderful about visiting and passing it on and such.
I would like to install a hit counter, but I have no idea where to find one,
so that will have to wait-- if anyone knows, please tell me! Almost
every section has been expanded, changed, or altered, but the most noteworthy
additions are a variety of new poems and songs, "A Minstrel's Guide to Performance",
"Translating the Elanthian Calendar", and several new items under Memories,
including the transcripts of Bardfest day 2 and 3. Enjoy!
8/22/01:
This website is now (finally!) officially open, but very far from complete.
Those of you given sneak previews will note quite a few links missing.
Being both an overachiever and a perfectionist, I decided that I'd rather
display a few fully completed sections than show off the labryinthine morass
of incompleted projects. If you're truly curious, however, feel free
to look at the list of Coming Attractions
.
