  1. Link to : Testimony of 3 people who had seen the plates
(Oliver Cowdery, David Whitmer, Martin Harris)

  2. Link to : Testimony of another 8 people who had seen the plates
(Christian Whitmer, Jacob Whitmer, Peter Whitmer, Jun., John Whitmer, Hiram Page, Joseph Smith, Sen., Hyrum Smith, Samuel H. Smith)

  3. Link to : Joseph Smith's own words of how he discovered the plates

  4. Link to : Interview with Martin Harris - one of the original three persons who had seen the plates, in January, 1859.

  5. David Whitmer, one of the orginal three persons who had seen the plates, left LDS (Church of Latter Days Saints, another name for the Mormon Church in Utah), when he and others saw the errors Joseph Smith introduced - polygamy, ... etc., they departed from Joseph Smith. In his words,

All of the eight witnesses who were then living (except the three Smiths) came out; Peter and Christian Whitmer were dead. Oliver Cowdery came out also. Martin Harris was then in Ohio.

The above was quoted from a book, written by David Whitmer, when he was 82, "An Address to All Believers in Christ" ( which may be viewed online at http://www.greaterthings.com/Topical/DavidWhitmer.htm).

He described how LDS got into errors. This is an valuable book to Christians, especially in these days "[Mt 24:24-25] For false Christs and false prophets will arise and show great signs and wonders, so as to lead astray, if possible, even the elect. Lo, I have told you beforehand."

  6. I think the best way to find out is to investigate yourself : read a few pages of that book to decide whether you wish to read the rest. [Link to Book of Mormon]

  7. If you are satisfied that the book is a true history of Native Americans from 600 B.C. to 420 A.D. then you may download it from [Project Gutenberg]

  8. If after reading the Book of Mormon, you wish to know more about the "Mormons", you may check at the site, where you will find autobiographies of many early "Mormons".
