When we read a book from the first page to the last page, we will gather some information as to what type of person the author is.
The author may describe some other people in his book, and we can also gather information about them too.
Therefore, when we read [Genesis], we have an idea of Abraham, his wife Sarah, Lot, the king of Philistine, Issac, Rebekah, Jacob, Leah, Reuben, Judah, Tamar, and last of all, Joseph.
When we read [Exodus], we have an idea of Moses, and his father in Law, Jethro, and most importantly, LORD, the eternal TRUTH. Because we could see how he dealt with the Israelites, and have all His words on Law and Commandments and Ordinances and Statutes.
We know LORD more after reading [Leviticus] and [Numbers].
The personality of Moses becomes very clear in [Deuteronomy].
Also we know Joshua, and Rahab in [Joshua].
In [Judges], we get to know Deborah, Barak, Gideon, Jephthah and his daughter, Manoah, Samson, and, finally, the Levite who cut up his concubine into twelve pieces and sent them all over Israel.
In [Ruth], we know Ruth, and Boaz.
In [Samuel], we know Elkanah, Hannah, Eli, Samuel, David, Jonathan, Ahimelech the priest, Mephiboseth, Uriah the Hittite, Nathan, Tamar, Ittai the Gittite, Abiathar, Zadok, Ahimaaz, Barzillai.
In [Kings], we know Ahijah, Elijah, Naboth the Jezreelite, Micaiah the prophet, Asa, Jehoshaphat, Elisha, Naaman the commander of army of Syria, Jehoiada, Hezekiah, Manasseh, Josiah.
In [Chronicles], we know David's mighty men, Hiram king of Tyre.
In [Ezra, Nehemiah], we get to know them.
In [Esther], we know Esther and Mordecai.
In [Job], we know Job.
In [Psalms], we get to know many brothers.
In [Proverbs, Ecclesiastes, Song of Solomon], we get some ideas of why Solomon fell into temptation when he became old.
In [Isiah, Jeremiah, Ezekiel], we get to know LORD better because of the many commentaries spoken by LORD. Moreover, we know Isiah, Jeremiah - the prophet who spoke "Ah, LORD GOD! Behold, I do not know how to speak, for I am only a youth.", and Ezekiel, whom LORD took to see the situation in Jerusalem.
In [Daniel], we know Daniel and Darius.
In [Hosea, Joel], we increase our knowledge of LORD.
In [Amos], we learn more about LORD's views, and also get to know Amos, the prophet who said, "I am no prophet, nor a prophet's son; but I am a herdsman, and a dresser of sycamore trees, and the LORD took me from following the flock, and the LORD said to me, 'Go, prophesy to my people Israel.'"
In [Obadiah], we know LORD still know.
In [Jonah], we know Jonah, and also understand LORD's heart towards his own creations.
In [Micah, Nahum], we learn still more LORD's words.
In [Habakkuk], we know something about Habakkuk.
In [Zephaniah, Haggai, Zechariah, Malachi], we know LORD still more.
In [Matthew, Mark, Luke, John], we know Lord Jesus, as well as the authors - Matthew, Luke, John. Also we know the many Mary's.
In [Acts], we get to know more about other brothers, and especially brother Paul.
The various letters of brother Paul show still more what type of person brother Paul was.
In [Hebrews], we know of an unknown Israelite, who was a good brother of us.
In [James], we know of James (the brother of Lord Jesus ? )
In [Peter, John, Revelation], we know our beloved brothers Peter, and John, and also increase of knowledge of Lord Jesus.
Therefore, if one is really familiar with the Bible, one should have no difficulties to discern at once that the Book of Mormon3 is true - they spoke in the same way as all our brothers and sisters in time past.
Now I ask you a question : though the book "Doctrine and Covenants"4, which came out of Joseph Smith's mouth, claiming to be the words of Almighty LORD, do you think they are really the words of the one who created the stars, the beautiful flowers and trees and mountains and streams, the fish and animal and birds, who created a duplicate of Himself and sent down to us, and who washed the feet of other people and willing died on the cross (for us), suffering such tremendous pains and humiliation ?
I have formed my own judgement, and you must form your own judgement.
(Note : I do not say the sayings in "Doctrine and Covenants" are false, I only say they are not from the mouth of LORD. Such message as "we must all repent or else LORD's fierce wrath will fall onto us" is true, but false prophets can speak the same too. My personal opinion is that at some stage, some demon got hold of Joseph Smith's heart, and spoke to him and beguiled him in believing that he is the Creator.)
