LAND ALLOCATION

  1. What do you think are the main causes of instabilities/revolutions in many countries? (e.g. Revolution in China? and in some South American countries?)

  2. Could you imagine your feeling when you have a piece of land of your own, and which you can bequeath to your children?

  3. Would your quality of life be improved if you have a piece of land to keep various kinds of animals and plants, and which you can show to and teach your children?

  4. There are many unemployment problems around the world, could this problem be solved, other than the present-day way of conspicuous consumption to keep up those employed?

  5. There are many unemployment problems around the world, what kind of land policy do you think would ease unemployment and boast agricultural production?

  6. There are many forest fires around the world, what do you think are the most effective ways to stop them? To hire more fire-fighters? To employ more park wardens? To employ more fire-watchers? Also many forests are sick.

  7. Global warming is a definite trend in the future, with the consequence of earthquakes and huge rainfall, because the present economic policy of America and EEC is geared to ever expanding production and consumption. Extensive planting of trees of an enormous and worldwide scale is one of the solution (apart from responsible use of our resources). What kind of land policy do you think could achieve this with the least burden on the financial resource of a country?

  8. Many products nowadays are used once and discarded, e.g. glass bottles. If we use it many many times, say 50 times, before throwing them away, would the energy requirement (electricity for production) be lessened?

  9. Many wildlife are in danger of extinction nowadays, and many mountain goats live in very poor condition whereas many areas with vast vegetation are devoid of large animals. What do you think should be the proper attitude of human towards animals?

  10. There was a time in Hong Kong where rent was ever increasing, up to levels burdensome to many people, and Hong Kong Government was forced to pass laws to keep down rent increases? Is there any other way to achieve stable rent prices, as house is a fundamental need of human.

  11. Multi-racial society is a trend of the future. Do you feel at ease if you are living among strangers? If not, how should a multi-racial society be?

LORD: "You shall inherit the land by lot according to your families; to a large tribe you shall give a large inheritance, and to a small tribe you shall give a small inheritance. wherever the lot falls to any man, that shall be his; according to the tribes of your fathers you shall inherit." (Num 33:54, Num 26:52-56)

LORD: "When a stranger sojourns with you in your land, you shall not do him wrong. The stranger who sojourns with you shall be to you as the native among you, and you shall love him as yourself; for you were strangers in the land of Egypt." (Lev 19:33, Eze 47:21-23)

LORD: "And you shall hallow the fiftieth year, and proclaim liberty throughout the land to all its inhabitants; it shall be a jubilee for you, when each of you shall return to his property and each of you shall return to his family ...." (Lev 25:10)

"In this year of jubilee each of you shall return to his property. And if you sell to your neighbour or buy from your neighbour, you shall not wrong one another. According to the number of years after the jubilee, you shall buy from your neighbour, and according to the number of years of crops he shall sell to you. If the years are many you shall increase the price, and if the years are few you shall diminish the price, for it is the number of the crops that he is selling to you. You shall not wrong one another, but you shall fear your God;..." (Lev 25:13-17)

"If a man sells a dwelling house in a walled city, he may redeem it within a whole year after its sale; for a full year he shall have the right of redemption ..."(Lev 25:29)

"If your brother becomes poor, and sells part of his property, then his next of kin shall come and redeem what his brother has sold. If a man has no one to redeem it, and then himself becomes prosperous and finds sufficient means to redeem it, let him reckon the years since he sold it and pay back the overpayment to the man to whom he sold it; and he shall return to his property. But if he has not sufficient means to get it back for himself, then what he sold shall remain in the hand of him who bought it until the year of jubilee; in the jubilee it shall be released, and he shall return to his property." (Lev 24:25-28) (NOTE: Land is not sold forever, land right will be reverted to its owner at the Jubilee Year.)

(NOTE: There are 12 tribes in Ancient Israel, and Israels is divided into 12 portions, one portion for one tribe, see Joshua 13,14,15,... For our present-day multi-racial society, we may have similar things: China Town, India Town, Japan Town, England Town, etc.)
