EDUCATION
- What do you think are the responsibilities of parents
towards their children?
- What do you think is the main deficiencies in the
education policies of many countries nowadays?
- Even if compulsory education is carried out in many
countries, and youngsters are educated, yet in many
cases, such youngsters would cause rioting, looting,
burning, destruction, when occasions favour such?
Do you think such trend will get better or worse?
- Imagine there is no police to uphold the law (or the
policemen went on strike, or the police force
disintegrated because of political upheaval), how many of
your neighbour would still keep the law, how many of them
would resort to looting, stealing, burning, raping,
torturing others, or killing for pleasure?
- LORD prescribed his lampstand to be hammered out from
gold. Many things may be hammered out from copper (or
copper alloy), e.g. dish, cups, bowls. Do you think it
advisable to teach youngsters hammering work, and girls
embroidery work? Try to find out the attitude of a girl
who can do good embroidery work, and one who cannot do
embroidery work. Try to find out the attitude of a boy
who knows hammering work and one who doesn't. (Many girls
in China/Islamic-countries/Eastern-Europe can do very
good embroidery work, compare their attitude with those
girls from the 'free' world. Given equal training, which
group do you think would be better prepared for the
future world of advanced knowledge and automation?)
- LORD told us to 'rise up before an hoary head'. But
youngsters nowadays seldom show respect to old people. Do
you think the elder people has a responsibility in it? Do
you think we have worked hard enough to earn the respect
of youngsters? Do you think the system has a
responsibility in it?
(LORD to Abraham) ... that he may charge his children and his
household after him to keep the way of the LORD by doing
righteousness and justice;.....(Gen 18:17-19)
(When the ancient Israelites left Egypt and was in Sinai, LORD
told them to make a tabernacle, etc.)
And Moses said to the people of Israel, "See, the LORD has
called by name Bezalel the son of Uri, son of Hur, of the tribe
of Judah; and he has filled him with the Spirit of God, with
ability, with intelligence, with knowledge, and with all
craftsmanship, to devise artistic designs, to work in gold and
silver and bronze, in cutting stones for setting, and in carving
wood, for work in every skilled craft. And he has inspired him to
teach, both him and Oholiab the son of Ahisamach of the tribe of
Dan..." (Ex 35:30-35)
(NOTE: Householder has the responsibility to teach his family
members, his servants, his employees, even animals in his house.
And 1 Levite is responsible for the moral education of (roughly)
10 householders; whereas within the house, the householder is
responsible. Levite may pay visits to the householders he is
responsible, as often as necessary, and provide guidance in
walking in LORD's way. For the teaching of crafts, those who have
received talents from LORD may hold classes.)
