Jesus : Blessed are the meek, for they shall inherit the earth. [Mt 5:5]
Jesus : Truly, I say to you, unless you turn and become like children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven. Whoever humbles himself like this child, he is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven. [Mt 18:3-4]
Jesus : Come to me, all who labour and are heavy-laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me; for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light. [Mt 11:28-30]
Jesus : You have heard that it was said, 'An eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth.' But I say to you, Do not resist one who is evil. But if any one strikes you on the right cheek, turn to him the other also; and if any one would sue you and take your coat, let him have your cloak as well, and if any one forces you to go one mile, go with him two miles. Give to him who begs from you, and do not refuse him who would borrow from you. [Mt 5:38-42]
Jesus : But I say to you that hear, Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you, pray for those who abuse you. To him who strikes you on the cheek, offer the other also; and from him who takes away your cloak, do not withhold your coat as well. Give to every one who begs from you; and of him who takes away your goods, do not ask them again. And as you wish that men would do to you, do so to them. [Luke 6:27-32]
LORD :You shall not hate your brother in your heart, but you shall reason with your neighbour, lest you bear sin because of him. You shall not take vengeance or bear any grudge against the sons of your own people, but you shall love your neighbour as yourself: I am the LORD. [Lev 19:17-18]
Jesus :If your brother sins against you, go and tell him his fault, between you and him alone. If he listens to you, you have gained your brother. But if he does not listen, take one or two others along with you, that every word may be confirmed by the evidence of two or three witnesses. If he refuses to listen to them, tell it to the church; and if he refuses to listen even to the church, let him be to you as a Gentile and a tax collector. [Mt 18:15-17]
LORD :Vengeance is mine, and recompense, .. [Deut 32:35]
(Note : one must not take vengeance with one's own hand, or else one transgresses against LORD's Laws. LORD and His angels will administer justice for you, you must not do it on your own.)
Peter (disciple of Jesus) : Servants, be submissive to your masters with all respect, not only to the kind and gentle but also to the overbearing. For one is approved if, mindful of GOD, he endures pain while suffering unjustly. For what credit is it, if when you do wrong and are beaten for it you take it patiently ? But if when you do right and suffer for it you take it patiently, you have GOD's approval. For to this you have been called, because Christ also suffered for you, leaving you an example, that you should follow in his steps. He committed no sin; no guile was found on his lips. When he was reviled, he did not revile in return; when he suffered, he did not threaten; but he trusted to him who judges justly. He himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, that we might die to sin and live to righteousness. By his wounds you have been healed. For your were straying like sheep, but have now returned to the Shephered and Guardian of your souls. [1 Peter 2:18-25]
Jesus : whoever exalts himself will be humbled, and whoever humbles himself will be exalted. [Mt 23:12]
Now he (Jesus) told a parable to those who were invited, when he marked how they chose the places of honour, saying to them, "When you are invited by any one to a marriage feast, do not sit down in a place of honour, lest a more eminent man than you be invited by him; and he who invited you both will come, and say to you, 'Give place to this man,' and then you will begin with shame to take the lowest place. But when you are invited, go and sit in the lowest place, so that when your host comes he may say to you, 'Friend, go up higher'; then you will be honoured in the presence of all who sit at table with you. For every one who exalts himself will be humbled, and he who humbles himself will be exalted. [Luke 14:7-11]
He (Jesus) also told this parable to some who trusted in themselves that they were righteous and despised others : "Two men went up into the temple to pray, one a Pharisee and the other a tax collector. The Pharisee stood and prayed thus with himself, 'GOD, I think thee that I am not like other men, extortioners, unjust, adulterers, or even like this tax collector. I fast twice a week, I give tithes of all that I get.' But the tax collector, standing far off, would not even lift up his eyes to heaven, but beat his breast, saying, 'GOD, be merciful to me a sinner!' I tell you, this man went down to his house justified rather than the other; for every one who exalts himself will be humbled, but he who humbles himself will be exalted.' [Luke 18:9-14]
(Note : Nearly all brothers and sisters of the Bible were meek, e.g. Issac, Leah, Abraham, Jacob, Judah, Moses, Hannah, Samuel, Ezra, Nehemiah, Esther, Job, Jeremiah, .... )
