Where is Jerry in the movie?
Download this 3 meg Divx AVI and
see my 2 seconds of fame in all of its blurry glory!
I'm the pilot furthest to the left (2nd row), when we're all standing
around to get our pictures taken.
If you have the film, my scene is about 40 seconds after
Dan Akroyd and that other commander dude are arguing:
"Break the damn code!" and before Ben Affleck's char returns
to the movie.
Here's my Pearl Harbor webpage
Me, my brother, and his friends were chosen to play Japanese military
dudes in the Michael Bay film "Pearl Harbor"
I played a Japanese fighter pilot, fulfilling a childhood
dream of mine (see Spielberg's "Empire of the Sun" and play
a lot of flight sims for details).
I recieve about 2 seconds of screen time in the movie.
I also think I fill up 95% of the movie screen for a split second in
another scene (i run past the camera up-close). Got an extra 4 seconds
in the "making of" feature on the DVD, too!
here are some answers to some FAQs i get from people..
1. no, i didn't meet Affleck, Hartnett, or Baldwin. I only met the
Japanese side of the actors, like the Cary "Shang Tsung" dude
from Mortal Kombat. My bro got Cary's autograph on a napkin. Sweet!
2. the carrier sequences for the japanese attackers and doolittle raid
were filmed aboard the USS Lexington, a carrier you can tour at Corpus
Christi, TX.
3. Uniforms were from "Tora Tora Tora". We got $600 for the
two days of shooting. woohoo!
4. call for extras was on a local radio station. Went to a hotel to
get our photos taken. from what i could tell, any asian that showed
up was chosen to be an extra.
5. most of the extras were vietnamese, then chinese, then japanese.
oh well :)
