Ease
Of Use
The PC world has been playing
catch up to Apple in the realm of Ease of Use for the last 15
years. However, since the advent of Windows95, the PC has
made great strides in making things easier for the user.
In general use, Win9x machines and MacOS machines are about equal
in ease of use, but when delving further into the OS, Windows
still isn't quite there. While hardware setup problems (once
the bain of PC users) are almost gone now, general troubleshooting
is more complex on a Windows machine, and occasional hardware
conflicts do occur due to the large number of products on the
market.
The MacOS interface is friendly looking,
simple and straightforward. It is mostly intuitive with
the exception of a few problems. The MacOS has Spring
Open folders which make file management a breeze. Also,
the list view on OS8.x is simply wonderful. Setting up
hardware is extremely easy, as are most daily tasks. In
general, it's the Ease of Use king, and may remain there for
a while.
