Jiggers is close to the centre
of the village and the shops, pubs, steam railway and children's
playground - but away from the main road.

Corfe Castle is the name of the village and the
ruined Castle. Its charm lies in the lovely old stone houses and
the relaxed atmosphere. Although sometimes busy in high season
it is delightfully peaceful at other times.
The shops include a baker, butcher and (very useful) general
store. There are pubs, tearooms and a tiny museum. Strolling around
the village to the Castle, the Common or across the Halves is
relaxing. For the more energetic, about 20 footpaths
lead from the village including the Purbeck Way National Path.
If you want to explore further afield it is easy.
Roads fan out from Corfe to local villages and the coast: the
main road to Wareham takes you quickly towards the rest of this
lovely county. The bus stop is nearby in East Street. Check out
our pages on the local area and things
to do to see where you might go in this magnificient part
of the country.
