The cottage is Grade II Listed for architectural
merit - as are many in this lovely stone-built village. It is called
Jiggers. A Jigger is a place where alcohol was made (illicitly)
but we have no evidence of such a rakish past! The old walls are
over two feet thick and the doorstep is well worn. In 1980 an extension
was added at the rear and this transforms it from a 'two up, two
down,' to a roomy three-bedroomed cottage.

The sitting room is large and comfortable. Part of it is pictured
left. The kitchen/diner was reburbished recently. It is light and
airy, well-equipped and has access to the the downstairs w.c. French
windows open onto the patio.
Equipment includes a washing machine, tumble dryer, microwave,
gas hob, electric oven, dishwasher, freezer, radio, ironing board
and iron, telephone (incoming calls only).

In the old part of the cottage there are two bedrooms, each with
two single beds. The smallest is pictured.
The family bathroom has bath, basin and w.c.
The master bedroom has a double bed, washbasin, rugs on a wooden
floor - and a pleasant outlook over the garden (see below).

This picture was taken on a fine February day. The patio is out
of sight below the camera. Steps lead up from it to this quiet garden.
There is a barbecue and garden furniture.
Children's equipment includes a travel cot and high chair (no
harness). The windows are low in the bedrooms but removable 'limiters'
allow for ventilation with peace of mind!
Street parking is limited but there is a reserved space in the
village car park nearby.
Dogs welcome, but sorry no cats. Please ask about other pets.
No smoking in the cottage please.
