1. John A.¹ Chambers was born in Kentucky before 20 August 1857, the first event for which there is a recorded date.

He married Rebecca Matilda Ellis in Fulton County, Illinois, 20 August 1857. Rebecca was born in Illinois 29 November 1832. Rebecca was the daughter of Solomon Harrison Ellis and Rebecca M. Logan. Rebecca died 4 August 1890 at 57 years of age.

John A. Chambers and Rebecca Matilda Ellis had the following family:

child 2 i. Sophronia² Chambers was born in Illinois about 1867. She married Ross Williams in Fulton County, Illinois, 14 August 1888.
