He married Rebecca M. Logan in White County, Illinois, 6 December 1825. Rebecca was born in South Carolina.

Solomon Harrison Ellis and Rebecca M. Logan had the following family:

2 i. John² Ellis was born in White County, Illinois 24 October 1826.

3 ii. Elizabeth Ann Ellis was born in White County, Illinois 18 October 1827. Elizabeth died 12 June 1856 at 28 years of age.

+ 4 iii. Isaac Ellis was born 4 December 1828.

5 iv. Permelia Jane Ellis was born in White County, Illinois 27 January 1831. Permelia died 23 March 1911 at 80 years of age. She married James O. Woodworth in Fulton County, Illinois, 6 May 1855.

6 v. Mary Catherine Ellis was born in White County, Illinois 27 January 1831. Mary died 29 June 1891 at 60 years of age. She married Thomas O. Cameron in Fulton County, Illinois, 5 Decmber 1850. Thomas was born in Smithfield, Fulton County, Illinois 18 February 1829. Thomas was the son of James Miller Cameron and Elizabeth Harrell.

7 vi. Rebecca Matilda Ellis was born in Illinois 29 November 1832. Rebecca died 4 August 1890 at 57 years of age. She married twice. She married John A. Chambers in Fulton County, Illinois, 20 August 1857. John was born in Kentucky. (See John A. Chambers for the continuation of this line.) She married James Miller Cameron in Fulton County, Illinois, 1 October 1873. James was born in Henderson County, KY 14 February 1807. James was the son of Thomas Camron and Nancy Miller. James died 27 December 1892 at 85 years of age.

8 vii. William L. Ellis was born in Illinois 9 March 1835. William died 6 September 1866 at 31 years of age.

9 viii. Susan G. Ellis was born in Illinois 1837. Susan died before 1865. She married Robert S. Stevens 6 June 1858.

10 ix. James Ellis was born in Illinois 1839. James died 8 January 1863 at 23 years of age.

11 x. Nancy F. Ellis was born in Illinois 15 June 1840. Nancy died 7 January 1867 at 26 years of age. She married Robert S. Stevens in Fulton County, Illinois, 27 July 1865.

12 xi. Eliza J. Ellis was born in Illinois 1842.
