17. Ambrose Elmer4 Foote (Ambrose Nelson3, John Nelson2, Elijah1) was born in Canton, Fulton County, Illinois 7 April 1898. Ambrose died May 1974 at 76 years of age.
He married Calla Pickering 21 April 1917. Calla was born 14 February 1900. Calla was the daughter of Thomas Pickering and Mary C. Ellis. Calla died December 1982 at 82 years of age.

Also surviving are three sons, Ira "Junior" of Bend, Ore., Warren of Hebron, Ohio, and Larry of New London, Iowa; one daughter, Mrs. Gerald "Linda" Cook of St. David; one stepdaughter, Mrs. Eleanor Sappington of Cuba; nine grandchildren; 10 stepgrandchildren; one great-grandchild; two brothers, Russell "Bud" Foote of Peoria Heights and Jack Foote of Pekin; and six sisters, Doris Courson of Galesburg, Ruth Wilson of Knoxville, Helen Shepperd and Mary Workman, both of Peoria, Joanne Russell of Pasadena, Calif., and Marilyn Gorgone of West Hills, Calif. She was preceded in death by one sister.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Henry Memorial Home in Lewistown, where visitation will be one hour before the services. The Rev. Barbara Short will officiate. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery in Lewistown.
Memorials may be made to the Buckheart Rescue Squad. Her body was interred January 1992 in Lewistown, Fulton County, Illinois, Oak Hill Cemetery. She married Ira W. Allen in Galesburg, Knox County, Illinois, 21 September 1935.
Ira was born in Pilot Grove, Illinois 23 May 1905. Ira was the son of William Allen and Nina Zoe Andrews. Ira died 5 September 1992 in Canton, Fulton County, Illinois, at 87 years of age. Born May 23, 1905, in Pilot Grove to William and Nina Zoe Andrews Allen, he married Mildred Stevenson. She died in 1934. He later married Leona P. Foote on Sept. 21, 1935, in Galesburg. She died Jan. 15, 1992.
One brother and three sisters also preceded him in death.
Surviving are three sons, Ira Jr. of Bend, Ore., Warren of Hebron, Ohio, and Larry of New London, Iowa; two daughters, Linda Cook of St. David and Eleanor Sappington of Cuba; one brother, Willard of Cicero; three sisters, Delores McMain of East Peoria, Julia Anderson of Bridgeton, Mo., and Florence Horton of Canton; 12 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.
He worked at International Harvester Co. in Canton for 42 years before retiring in 1973. He was a member of the United Auto Workers.
Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Henry Memorial Home in Lewistown. The Rev. Barbara Short will officiate. Visitation will be one hour before services. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery.

Surviving are one son, Steve of Ozark, Mo.; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; five sisters, Doris Courson of Galesburg, Mary Workman of Peoria, Helen Shepperd of Kentucky, and Joanne Russell and Marilyn Gorgone, both of California; and two brothers, Russell Foote of Peoria Heights and Jack Foote of Pekin.
She worked as a nurse's aide at Galesburg Mental Health Center until she retired.
She was a member of Allen Park Baptist Church in Galesburg.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Hurd-Hendricks Funeral Home. The Rev. Milton Marquith will officiate. Visitation will be from 7 to 8:30 tonight at the funeral home. Burial will be in Knoxville Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the Knoxville Fire Department. Her body was interred October 1997 in Knoxville, Knox County, Illinois, Knoxville Cemetery. She married Paul E. Wilson in Kahoka, Clark County, Missouri, 23 December 1941.
Paul was born in Zenar, Webster County, Missouri 3 January 1920. Paul was the son of Parm "Dick" Wilson and Ida Clevenger. Paul died 30 May 1995 in Galesburg, Knox County, Illinois, at 75 years of age. He moved from Zenar to East Galesburg and last lived in Knoxville. He worked as a carpenter in East Galesburg and the former Rowe Manufacturing Co. in Galesburg. He also was a custodian at Knoxville School District 202.
He was a member of West Finley Baptist Church in Zenar.
