Hi John, There is a group of related Tekulve families that settled in Alabama. I don't have the relevant names with me at the moment, but I'll check into it when I'm able.
Thanks, Dan Johnson |

Hi Dan,
Just came back from Ontario where I did some research on Mom's family. Found a copy of my GGgrand parent's marriage certificate. Very cool. See you at the reunion on 8/14?

My 89 year old neighbor is Mabel Leo Smith Schneider. In 1978 she self published a booklet about her SMITH Family. I obtained a copy of this booklet just the other day and have been searching the net to see if other family members would be interested in the work she's done.
According to Mabel, Moses Smith was the son of William and Susannah (Wood) Smith. Moses married Nancy Ann Tanner, dasughter of Ann (Harry) and John Tanner. Pictures of these two are found on pg. 41 of her booklet.
Mabel can be reached at: POB 423, Buck Hill Falls, Pa 18323. She has done extensive work on her family line but she is not connected to a computer.
I found this web site as a result of searching Ancestry.Com for Spencer Everett Smith, Mabel's father. |

Hi Janet, Wow, that's some impressive work! I'll have to look into my own data in more detail to see about links with my wife's Strode relatives. There were several Strode families in Fulton County, Illinois in the mid-1800's. One of the more prominent of these families was that Jesse Burr Strode, born in Fulton County in 1845, who became a Congressman to the Fifty-fourth and Fifty-fifth Congresses (March 4, 1895-March 3, 1899), representing his constituents in Nebraska. I'll look into the Strode connections and let you know what I find. Thanks so much for the detailed information. It's always helpful, and always greatly appreciated.
